【你有聽到我的「話」嗎？你懂我的「意思」嗎？翻譯性的英文！】
考慮以下：
[?] I didn’t hear her words.
[?] Do you understand my meaning?
問題在哪呢？

我不敢說這兩句是「錯」。不過，「翻譯味」特別強！
上面的英文就是從「我沒有聽到她的話」與「你懂我的意思嗎？」直接翻過來的。
自然的英文裡，是不會這樣講的！
其實，中文用「...的話」與「...的意思」，我們不會把這兩個字直接翻出來，自然的英文通常用 what 開頭的從句：what he/she said, & what he/she means。所以，比較自然的說法是：
√ I didn’t hear what she said.
√ Do you know what I mean?
